The village of Dorgali is in a dominant position in the mid-coast of the calcareous Mount Bàrdia, a centre of medieval origins that developed in an area already exploited during the prehistorical and Roman era. It has an important tradition in the manufacture of leather, ceramics and gold. Also the production of wine is of great quality.
The cave of Bue Marino is located at about 5 Km south from Cala Gonone and is one of the widest and most impressive of Sardinia. Its curious name is due to the fact that it’s one of the last refuges of the Nun Seal (called Bue Marino-sea Ox), of whose you can still find very few specimens. With its small lakes and its fantastic calcareous concretions, the cave is extremely impressive.
